House cleaning
House cleaning in Perth
House cleaning in Perth on a schedule that suits the house, priced on the property rather than by the hour.
Weekly, fortnightly, monthly, or once because it has got away from you. The scope is agreed before the first visit, so what gets done on visit one is what gets done on visit twenty.

The scope
What a regular house clean covers
The same rooms every visit, in the same order, so nothing depends on anyone remembering. Anything outside this list is named in the quote rather than discovered later.
Kitchen
- Benchtops, splashback, sink and tapware
- Cupboard fronts, handles and the marks around them
- Cooktop, rangehood front and the outside of the oven
- Microwave inside and out
- Floors vacuumed and mopped, including under where you can reach
Bathrooms and laundry
- Shower screens, tiles and the grout that shows
- Toilet, vanity, mirror and tapware
- Exhaust fans wiped, not just looked at
- Trough, benches and the floor behind the door
Living and bedrooms
- Dusting through, including sills, ledges and the tops of frames
- Skirtings and switch plates where the marks collect
- Beds made if you want them made, left if you do not
- Floors vacuumed, mopped and edged
Through the house
- Mirrors and internal glass
- Cobwebs in the corners and along the eaves by the door
- Bins out and relined
- Entry, hallway and anything that gets walked on most
Windows, carpets, ovens inside and tile and grout are their own jobs and are quoted separately, because doing them properly takes equipment a regular clean does not bring.
How often
Picking a frequency that is honest about your house
The right interval is the one where the house never gets far enough behind to need a bigger job. Guessing high wastes money and guessing low turns every visit into a catch up.
| How often | Who it suits | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Weekly | Full houses, young kids, pets, people who work from home | Nothing accumulates, so each visit is the same size and the price stays flat. This is the only interval where floors and bathrooms genuinely stay on top of themselves. |
| Fortnightly | The most common one, and the default worth starting on | Two weeks is about how long a bathroom takes to start showing and a kitchen floor to stop looking done. Far enough apart to be worth it, close enough that nothing turns into a project. |
| Monthly | Smaller households, units, people who tidy as they go | Works when somebody is doing the surface-level upkeep in between. If nobody is, a monthly visit quietly becomes a deep clean every time and gets priced like one. |
| One off | Before people arrive, after they leave, or because it got away from you | A single visit with no commitment. If the house has been a long time without one, that is a deep clean rather than a regular clean and we will say so before quoting. |
What we need
What it takes to price a house clean
Four things, and none of them is how many hours you think it should take. Send these and a quote per visit comes back before anyone turns up.
- Bedrooms and bathrooms
- Bathrooms move the number more than bedrooms do. Two bathrooms in a three bedroom house is a bigger job than three bedrooms and one.
- How often
- The per visit price drops as the frequency rises, because a house cleaned often never has anything built up on it.
- Floors
- Carpet, tile, timber or a mix, and roughly how much of each. It changes the equipment and the time.
- Anything you want left alone
- Rooms we skip, a study nobody touches, a surface with things on it you would rather we did not move. Cheaper and less stressful for everyone.
The hours question
What actually fits in two hours, and why nobody will tell you
Search house cleaning in Perth and Google itself shows you the questions people ask: how much is a two hour clean, and what will a cleaner do in three hours. We checked the six pages ranking above those questions. Four of them sell by the hour. Not one answers either question.
That is not an oversight. An hourly seller cannot answer it, because the honest answer prices the job instead of the hour.
Two hours is one bathroom, a kitchen and a pass of the floors
In an average three by two, that is roughly it. Not the second bathroom, not dusting through, not the bedrooms properly. If someone quotes you two hours for a whole house, they have decided in advance what to leave out and have not told you which parts.
Three hours is a small house done properly, or a big one done partly
Which of those you get depends entirely on your house, which is exactly why the hour is a useless unit to buy in. The same three hours is a complete job in a two bedroom unit and half a job in a four by two with carpet through.
An hourly rate pays us to be slow and pays you to hope
It puts you and the cleaner on opposite sides of the clock. You are watching the time, they are watching the time, and neither of you is looking at the house. A price on the property removes the clock from the conversation entirely.
So the scope is the thing that gets agreed, not the duration
You get a list of what is included before the first visit and a quote per visit. If your house needs more than the list, we tell you before we start rather than running the meter.
The 6/10 rule, since Google keeps asking
It is a household routine rather than a professional standard: six areas of the house on a rotation, ten minutes on each, as a way of keeping a place ticking over without ever doing a full clean. It is useful, and it has nothing to do with pricing a cleaner.
It gets asked on this search because people are trying to work out whether they can avoid booking one. Sometimes the answer is yes, and if a routine will hold your house together we would rather say so than sell you a fortnightly visit you do not need.

House cleaning questions in Perth
How much does house cleaning cost in Perth?
It depends on the property and the frequency, and anyone quoting a number before seeing either is guessing at one of them. What we can tell you is what the number is built from: the number of bathrooms first, then bedrooms, how often we come, what the floors are, and anything you want left alone. Send those and you get a quote per visit in writing before the first clean.
How much is a 2 hour clean?
We do not sell hours, so there is no two hour price. In an average three by two, two hours of work is about one bathroom, the kitchen and a pass of the floors, and not the rest of the house. If you have been quoted two hours for a whole house, ask which rooms are not included, because somebody has already decided and it is usually the second bathroom.
What will a cleaner do in 3 hours?
In a two bedroom unit, the whole thing properly. In a four by two with carpet through, roughly half of it. That is the problem with buying hours: the same three hours is a complete job in one house and a partial one in another, and you find out which after you have paid. We quote the scope and the property instead, so the answer is the same before and after.
What is the difference between a house clean and a deep clean?
A regular house clean maintains a house that is already in reasonable order. A deep clean resets one that is not, and it reaches things a regular clean never touches: inside appliances, inside cupboards, skirtings and the accumulated rather than the current. If it has been a long time, the first visit is usually a deep clean and the regular ones start after it.
Do I need to be home?
No, and most regular clients are not. Once the scope is agreed the visit runs the same whether you are there or not. How we get in is your call and gets sorted before the first clean rather than on the morning of it.
Do you bring your own equipment and products?
Yes. If you would rather we used something of yours, for a surface that needs a particular product or because of an allergy in the house, leave it out with a note and we will use it.
Can I skip a visit or change the frequency?
Yes. Tell us as early as you can so the run can be rearranged, and there is no penalty for it. If you skip enough visits that the house falls behind, the next one takes longer and we will tell you that before it does rather than after.
Do you clean windows, carpets and ovens as part of it?
Not as part of a regular clean. Internal glass and mirrors yes, but windows, carpet steam cleaning, the inside of an oven and tile and grout each need equipment a regular visit does not carry. They are quoted separately and are often worth booking once or twice a year alongside the regular work.
