What comes apart
An oven wiped with the door shut is a clean door. Everything an inspection actually looks at is behind something that has to come out first.
Inner door glass
The panes come apart where the door allows it. Grease sits between them and cannot be reached any other way, which is why an oven can look wiped and still be brown when the light is behind it.
Racks and runners
Out, soaked and scrubbed off the appliance, along with the side runners they sit on. Racks are the second most commonly failed item after the glass.
Trays and the base
Baked spills lifted off rather than scraped through the enamel. Enamel that has been gouged does not grow back and it goes on the report.
Door seal
Cleaned around rather than pulled at. A perished seal is a repair, not a cleaning job, and we will tell you if that is what you have.
Fan cover and cavity
The back cover comes off where the model allows and the cavity behind the fan is degreased. It is the part nobody sees and the part that smells when the oven next goes on.
Cooktop and rangehood
Burners, trivets and the cooktop surface, and the rangehood filters taken out and degreased. Filters are a standing item on most condition reports.
At handover
The oven is the first thing an agent opens
Every exit inspection we have seen starts in the kitchen, and the oven door is the first thing to move. It is the one appliance where a bad clean is visible in a second and impossible to argue about.
It is also the single most common bond deduction on the list, ahead of carpets and walls, because it is the job people leave until last and then run out of time on.
Doing it properly takes hours rather than minutes, and the difference is entirely in what comes out of the oven before anything gets cleaned.

Pyrolytic ovens still fail inspections
A pyrolytic oven runs its cavity up to around five hundred degrees and turns the residue to ash. It genuinely works, on the cavity.
What the cycle does not touch is the inner door glass, the racks, the trays, the seal or the rangehood, because none of those are in the cavity while it runs. Most manufacturers tell you to take the racks OUT before you start it, which is the whole point.
So a self cleaning oven at handover still needs the glass split and the racks done by hand. If you have already run the cycle, say so and we will price it as the smaller job it now is.

Oven cleaning questions in Perth
How long does an oven clean take?
It depends on how much is baked on and how far the door comes apart, so it is quoted on the oven rather than by the hour. A neglected oven is a genuinely long job and anyone promising twenty minutes is going to wipe it and leave.
Do you clean the inner door glass?
Yes, and it is the part that matters most. Grease sits between the panes, so a door that looks wiped from the front is still brown when the light comes through it, and that is exactly what an inspection sees.
My oven is self cleaning. Do I still need this?
Usually yes. The pyrolytic cycle burns out the cavity and does not touch the door glass, racks, trays, seal or rangehood, and most manufacturers tell you to take the racks out before running it. If you have already run the cycle, tell us and it is priced as the smaller job.
Do you do the cooktop and rangehood too?
Yes. Burners, trivets, the cooktop surface and the rangehood filters, which come out and get degreased. Filters appear on most condition reports as their own line.
What does oven cleaning cost in Perth?
It follows the size of the oven, its condition and whether the cooktop and rangehood are included. Send through the address and a photo of the inside and you get a quote.
Can you get baked on marks out of the enamel?
Baked on spills lift. Enamel that has been gouged or has lost its glaze does not come back, because that is damage rather than dirt. We will point it out when we see it, since it is a condition report question rather than a cleaning one.
